Some of the decisions we have made:
Since the sports funding has been granted, the School has spent the money in various ways to improve the quality and choice of sport within school. The direction of strategic spend of this money has become particularly relevant as the sports premium grant has been doubled. This has allowed the school to make wider use of specialists and increase the opportunities for pupils.
Since 2017 the school has bought in the Dr Challoner's High School Sports Partnership for £2000. It is a yearly subscription which allows the school access to more competitive organised sport against other schools in the partnership. By being part of the Dr Challoner's High School Partnership we have allowed more children from a range of years to represent the school in competitive sport. The advantages of this sports partnership as it provides a range of competitive and non competitive sporting experiences for all children. Across the year every pupil from all year groups including the EYFS have had the opportunity to participate in at least 1 inter school event.
We have hired specialist sports coaches to teach the children in their respective fields. These include; basketball, gymnastics and dance.
We have a varied and large amount of sporting clubs on offer to the children. The clubs we have on offer are; Netball, Judo, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Football, Archery, Dodgeball, Hockey, Running and Dance. The clubs are provided by a combination of school staff and outside providers, where outside providers are used the cost is subsidsed through sports premium allowing children to have access to the coaching within the club for £1 a session and free of charge for those pupils in receipt of pupil premium.
We have used the grant to buy better equipment for the school for PE lessons and clubs. We have purchased new equipment for a variety of sports and games which the children enjoy using, linked to our updated whole school overview. Purchases have been made for both key stages and for all abilities. We have purchased equipment designed to be used within PE lessons, both indoor and outdoor, and for children who are looking to progress their skills. We have also purchased equipment that the school did not have before. I am pleased that the school now has sufficient equipment to provide numerous sporting opportunities to the children.
The grant has also been used to purchase scheme of works for the teachers to use or training for the teachers, sport leaders and other staff have attended training on active maths and The Power of PE scheme of work was purchased to support staff with the planning and delivery of high quality lessons.

Each school will receive £16,000 plus an extra £10 per pupil - we have been given a total budget of £19,500 to use for sport.
